SALARY:£21,074 to £24,657per annum + Benefits

JOB OVERVIEW

 

We have a fantastic new job opportunityfor a Community Neighbourhood Officer with Sheltered Housing / Estate Management experience.

 

Working as the Community Neighbourhood Officer youwill be responsible for ensuring safe, customer-focused and effective estates services, predominantly across the organisations flatted sheltered schemes, promoting their approach to fire safety and undertaking relevant actions.

 

As the Community Neighbourhood Officer, you will deal with service queries related to cleaning, grounds maintenance and car parking, and also undertake inspections and report repair requirements, fly tipping, nuisance or service failures, while building effective working relationships with residents, community groups, partner agencies and contractors, to resolve issues and improve neighbourhoods.

 

As the Community Neighbourhood Officer, you must have access to a vehicle for work purposes with the ability to work effectively without supervision and using good judgement in decision making.

 

 

DUTIES

 

Your duties and responsibilities include:

 

Ensure a polite and helpful service to residents, raising safeguarding, ASB, welfare and health and safety concerns with the Estates Manager or other relevant colleagues

 

Respond effectively to and be first point of contact for day to day enquiries regarding the performance of contracted estate services such as cleaning, grounds maintenance and car parking

 

In consultation with the Fire Safety Manager and Estates Manager be responsible for Health and Safety checks, respond to actions arising from Fire Risk Assessments and carry out Person Centred Fire Risk Assessments

 

Inspect blocks, reporting repairs, fly tipping, nuisance or service failures

 

Maintain administrative records, report repairs and submit reports

 

Work with residents, community groups, partner agencies and contractors to improve neighbourhoods and resolve issues

 

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

 

Experience in housing / estates management within a sheltered housing environment or similar

 

Experience working within a customer facing role, supporting residents and monitoring services

 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

The ability to learn quickly and work flexibly to manage a diverse and busy workload, without close supervision.

 

You will also need to have basic knowledge of fire safety legislation and practice as it relates to social housing, and of residents’ rights and responsibilities.
