Who are we?

We are Scotland’s only oil refinery, based in Grangemouth in the Central Belt of Scotland and in the heart of a thriving manufacturing sector.

We currently have an opportunity for hard-working, driven and highly motivated individuals who are interested in taking on a new challenge.

Due to previous success, we are now currently recruiting for a Process Conversion training course.

This is a great opportunity for individuals to be trained as Process Technicians. Many benefits include:

Training & Salary Information

The training will take place at both Forth Valley College for 10 weeks then on site at the Refinery over a period of 6 to 9 months. On completion at College, your training will continue within the refinery and you will be expected to complete SVQ Level 3 in Downstream Operations and meet the competency level required

The training you will receive is excellent and rigorous. You will be required to achieve the required qualifications, competencies and behavioural standards needed for a long and successful career as a Process Technician

The role attracts an initial salary of £24,130 whilst training at college rising to £27,481 once you have successfully achieved of the required competency levels at Forth Valley College. Once you commence shifts, you will also be entitled to an annual shift allowance of £7,932

On completion of the SVQ, your annual salary would then increase to £32,135 plus £7,932 shift allowance.

Recruitment & Selection

We will be conducting ability testing week commencing 4th February 2019 at Forth Valley College (1/2 day) followed by 1/2 day assessment at our refinery in Grangemouth week commencing 18th February 2019 (Dates to be confirmed)

The course at Forth Valley College will commence on 22nd April until 28th June 2019. You need to be available to attend the full course.

Successful applicants must meet one of the following criteria: -
Completed a technical or trade apprenticeship
Recent experience gained in a technical / trade role.
Forces background

Please note this role may require working at height, confined spaces, working around deep water and wearing breathing apparatus.

The Grangemouth Site, based in Central Scotland, is a top tier COMAH site with a refinery, ethylene cracker and several other major petrochemical processes

This is an exciting time to join us at our Grangemouth site, INEOS’ largest manufacturing asset which includes Scotland’s only crude oil refinery. The Petroineos Refinery is a joint venture between INEOS and Petrochina

The KG Cracker’s planned maintenance shutdown is scheduled for Q2/Q3 2019. The successful candidate will become part of a team of technical clerks who will support the shutdown engineering, planning, completions and document control teams to prepare and execute this event.

Technical Clerk Requirements

Workpack administration, track documents, management of ‘red pen mark-ups’ from engineers and contractors & management IT and hard copy filing systems.

Monitor and update trackers and registers.

Print & collate technical documents / drawings.

Ability to understand project engineering terminology across all disciplines.

Support the completions team with input and tracking of QA certification, punch list items and reports.

High appreciation of the importance in completeness and quality of documentation.

Proactive, resourceful, ability to work on own and as part of a team, positive attitude, ability to influence, flexible approach to work.

Able to use Microsoft Office applications to a good level.

Knowledge of Alfresco & document control process is desirable.

The role is varied and interesting. It will require some periods of flexible working (particularly during the event in 2019). It includes working with the INEOS TAR & asset teams and also with the TAR contractors and vendors.
