Information Security Manager

Fixed-term contract until 30th March 2020, full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Purpose:

The Information Security Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the security of the IB’s information and applications. This role will develop, lead on, and deliver a number of critical cyber security and information risk management initiatives, including data classification, data retention and archiving, cloud security programs and various other related work streams as directed by the Head of Information Risk Management, Security and Governance.

The post holder will be responsible for defining, setting and documenting the IB Security Architecture, its principles, processes and technology, and will be responsible for monitoring compliance and alignment to this architecture.

The successful candidate will be expected to work at strategic, operational and tactical levels, and the role will require someone with a broad range of both technical and non-technical security related skills.

In conjunction with other members of the security team, the Information Security Manager will be allocated as the ‘Security Lead’ on a range of IB Projects and Programs, and will ensure the successful scoping, delivery and sign off for all aspects of security work streams within the allocated projects.

The post holder will also sit on the Cyber Security Incident Response Team, and play a key role in the investigation, triage, treatment and remediation of security related incidents. As part of this, the post holder will, at times, be expected to liaise with external agencies such as national and international law enforcement agencies, advisory bodies and intelligence sources, acting as the primary point of contact, and ensuring the needs of the IB are best served.

Other aspects of the role will include IT Disaster Recovery Management, Compliance Management and also the management of various suppliers of security services.

Job Duties:

Delivers a number of key IA related initiatives including an Enterprise Wide Data Classification program

Undertakes formal compliance monitoring and ensures that breaches are identified, addressed and remediated

Drives forward security best practice in various domains including Access Management, Cryptography, Cloud Computing and Storage, Data Governance etc

Undertakes formal risk assessments against applications, processes and prospective solutions

Continuously improve and enhance the cyber security framework based on leading standards including CIS Critical Controls, COBIT5, ISO 27001, CESG and NIST frameworks

Manage key compliance programs including, where appropriate, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPPA, GLBA, Global Data Protection Regulations, EU Privacy Directives, and US City, State and Federal laws in relation to data security and privacy (e.g. FERPA)

Liaises and maintains excellent business relationship management with other business leads and IT leads to deliver quality security related services and solutions, and a secure applications landscape

Produces quality reporting and associated management information on the state of information security, IA work streams, risk exposure and threat management

Undertakes IT Disaster Recovery planning and design

Maintains an annual testing program of the IB’s main Data Centre Disaster Recovery plan.

Job Requirements:

A degree in Business or IT

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), in good standing is essential

CREST, CHECK and OSCP are desirable

Experience of Security Architecture design

Experience of working as part of a Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT)

Experience in enterprise security design preferably with MS Azure, Amazon Cloud Services, Solaris, Linux, Windows, Avaya, and leading ERP solutions

Experience of undertaking audit and/or formal assessor related activities for organizations within the field of cyber security

Skilled in the management of cyber forensics, particularly the importance of maintaining forensic integrity during an investigation using suitable formal guidelines

Experience in performing security audits, risk assessments, assurance work and self-assessments

Experience of implementing ISO 27001

Strong business relationship management, coupled with the ability to persuade, steer and convince senior business leaders on the approach to critical security matters

High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgment

Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new trends and technologies

Ability to lead and motivate cross functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve both tactical and strategic goals

Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumni is a plus.
