Project Manager - 181419   Project Manager   Kier Workplace Services provides specialist teams and technology solutions to help plan, manage and improve our clients’ workplaces. This provides our clients with access to solutions not readily available in their own organisations. It also enables our clients to focus on their core business, while Kier takes care of the rest.   Our key clients include the Royal Opera House, Royal Shakespeare Company, Legal and General, Kent County Council, Oldham Council, BAE and the London Borough of Southwark. We also work with a number of schools and academies, the Welsh Government and hold a major contract with the NHS in Yorkshire and Humber.   We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to lead and manage large, complex and/or high value projects, ensuring resources are controlled and the outputs defined in the project outline are delivered on time.   Reporting to the Head of Projects the post holder will be responsible for budgets and defining quality parameters, whilst developing and maintaining business relationships.   Key Responsibilities   Develop and maintain an overall project plan that integrates the contribution of sub projects, with clearly defined deliverables, which align with the needs of the project sponsor or customer. Obtain the necessary resources required for the project plan in order to ensure that the resources are deployed and managed effectively. Ensure a robust project office support, benefits monitoring systems and appropriate financial control systems are in place to enable the upward reporting of information and to highlight problems in the deployment. Establish and maintain effective customer relationships providing formal reports and feedback as requires so that the conduct and completion of the project can take place in a smooth and effective manner. Variations Identify project shortfalls and negotiate with customers where necessary regarding changes, variations and extensions to the project brief. Manage key relationships with both stakeholders and suppliers to ensure all deliverables are achieved on time. Ensure all aspects of the project are constantly reviewed both during and post implementation through conduct of formal project performance reviews. Identify and develop new organic opportunities and/or secure additional income in order to maximise income, margin, profit and opportunities from within existing contracts. 

    Key Skills and Qualifications   Previous experience within a similar role managing projects in excess of £200k-£1m. Excellent organisational and planning skills plus an ability to manage stakeholders and project based staff. Energetic, punctual, proactive and reliable with the ability to lead, guide, and motivate others towards achievement. The ability to set standards others follow and develop strategies/policies to address specific problems, challenges and issues including developing and determining longer term approaches to business issues. Excellent communicator, with high level of computer literacy. Qualifications that demonstrate an understanding of concepts, theories and principles underpinning a subject area.

  Maintenance Engineer  

Kier Workplace Services is looking to recruit a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to support Regional Managers delivering a national Total Facilities Management contract with a leading charity/retail sector client.

 

This position will be based out of Cardiff, operating throughout South Wales and Mid Wales.

  Key Responsibilities:   Carry out preventative maintenance checks and works General mechanical and electrical assistance Ensure that all tasks are carried out safety and in line with safe operating procedures Respond to down time and unscheduled maintenance / works Organise, plan, prioritise and schedule your own work in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations Ensure plant and/or machinery is serviced and maintained in accordance with procedures and set preventative maintenance plans Ensure relevant feedback is provided to Regional Manager on issues and concerns Assist providers and maintenance team during breakdowns Work with the daily cleaning team and ensure all tasks are completed in line with the manufacturers recommendations Fulfil requirements of certain mechanical & electrical and building fabric services by assisting in planned and reactive maintenance as provided to the agreed standard Overtime required when covering holiday cover Be part of a regional on-call rota       Key Skills and Qualifications:   A practical multi skilled engineering with maintenance background You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship, NVQ or Equivalent training program in relevant field Experience working to preventative maintenance plans Organised, able to plan and prioritise Computer literate Full Driving Licence
