The Electrical Engineer in Cardiff will: Develop electrical building systems design including power distribution, earthing, lighting, fire alarm and lightning protection systems Produce Concept, Developed and Technical drawings, reports and specifications in line with RIBA plan of work and BSRIA BG6 framework Develop engineering design directly in Revit, with support from experienced BIM Technicians Author reports and specifications, including the use of NBS Create Carry out electrical calculations using industry, and bespoke software Develop spatial and technical co-ordination of the building services and their integration into building design Co-ordinate own work with that of other disciplines including in-house specialists Liaise with clients, architects and contractors for the delivery of designs Spend time on site during construction and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced members of the team Proactively manage own continuing professional development

The Electrical Engineer in Cardiff will be:

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering. Looking to achieved Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IET or CIBSE. Experience in the field of electrical building services design with experience across a range of project scales and building types. Knowledge and interest in sustainable building design and in satisfying the regulatory and voluntary codes associated with sustainability, such as BREEAM. An interest and awareness of building design beyond own discipline. Enthusiasm in driving a Digital agenda including automation via software such as Revit to improve quality and efficiency, as well as utilising visualisation tools to communicate engineering concepts. Knowledge of current regulations and emerging technologies. Experience using industry software packages including Excel and Revit. Planning and organisation skills. Excellent communications skills, written and verbal. Able to demonstrate commercial awareness. Enjoys working as part of a team, contributing to and sharing in collective success of projects. Highly motivated and willing to tackle new challenges.
